Bodypoint Pelvic Positioning Belts

Pelvic positioning belts or hip belts can be added to a Breezi chair to help position a child’s pelvis allowing for improved reach with safety. Bodypoint’s ISO 16840-3 tested belts are best in class and meet the international standards for performance and durability. Belts should be mounted over the thighs to promote reach and prevent ‘submarining’.

Bodypoint belts are available in various buckle sizes and styles.

Mounting a Hip Belt

Each Bodypoint belt is supplied with a Cinch-Mount end-fitting and FrameSaver Clamps to fit onto any wheelchair tubing – for more mounting options please visit the Bodypoint® Mounting Hardware section.

All Bodypoint belts arrive with a Cinch-Mount end fitting.

For a secure hold, just pull the belt through the Cinch-Mount to the desired fit, thread back through the slot and push down the cover.

These Clamps are meant for round wheelchair tubing. They can be modified to fit oval-shaped tubing with the application of a heat gun.

Fits 7/8″ (22mm) tubing with included shim, fits 25mm (1″) tubing without shim. 3/4″ (19 mm) shims are available as optional extras.

Decision Guide

Belt type
Padded Hip Belts
Padded hip belts provide comfortable positioning support for the pelvis without wrinkling, twisting or pinching, thanks to the laminar pads sewn into the belt.
Non Padded Belts
Non-padded belts are just as secure as padded ones, and can be made more comfortable with the addition of Bodypoint slip-on pads (see Belt Accessories).
Hook and Loop Compatible Padded Belts
The hook-and-loop compatible belt has a patch of 'loop' on the underside designed to fit with the 'hook' on the Bodypoint sub-ASIS pads.Sub-ASIS pads comfortably space the belt away from the abdomen, reducing pressure on the bladder while firmly controlling the pelvis just below the ASIS.
Two or Four point Mounting
Two Point Pelvic Positioning Belt
This type of belt has two points of attachment to the wheelchair. Two-point attachment is suitable when the belt is supporting users with low tone or weakness.
Four Point Pelvic Positioning Belt
This type of belt has four points of attachment to the wheelchair. Primary straps position the belt like a two-point belt and secondary straps anchor the belt in to position to prevent it from riding up into the abdomen or twisting. Four-point attachment is suitable when the belt is supporting users with high tone and/or spasms.
Pull Type
